Lucymum has arrived!

After 18 hours of travel, I have finally arrived at the Intercontinental Phu Quoc. The final leg of the journey from Hong Kong to Phu Quoc was easy, flight wasn’t busy. The sun came up as we boarded the plane in Hong Kong, the colours were quite pretty. I managed to sneak in another hour nap on the flight. I had a seat over the wing again, 24A.

Penny quite enjoyed the flight but I think Bally was missing home a little, wishing Riley was on the plane with us.

Getting out of the airport took a while. Immigration took at least 40 mins, this is important for the Vietnamese government to ensure no bad guys get in the country.

After that, I picked up my suitcase and met people from work. About 30 of us got on a coach to the resort, and we saw lots of poor people in simple shacks along the way. Sadly it was dirty too with lots of plastic rubbish lying on the side of the road.

Arriving at the resort things were much tidier. But it’s worthwhile remembering the people in this country are poor and may not be welcomed in the resort areas.

My room is very comfy, it has a little balcony overlooking a swimming pool. I went for a swim there and the water was refreshing but warm.

Afterwards I met some people at the restaurant and had lunch. I had a Hanoi style Bun cha, the meat came on a smoker. It was delicious.

Penny was keen to explore, while Bally wanted a little nap, so I tucked him in to bed. Here are some things Penny and I visited in the resort and nearby.
